Join us for an ecumenical celebration of our climate justice work, where the Brazilian communities we work with will join us in worship

About this event

Our service of solidarity will shine a light on those hardest hit by climate change and call on our supporters to pray for and reflect on climate justice. The focus of the event will be on communities on the front line of the climate crisis in the Amazon rainforest who play a key role in tackling the climate crisis by working as shields against deforestation and devastation. Christian Aid has been working closely with these communities to empower them to challenge unjust systems, increase access to their lands and to strive for social, climate and economic justice.

The service will include prayers and reflections from Christian Aid's Chief Executive, Amanda Khozi Mukwashi, and our Head of Nations and Church Relations, Sally Foster-Fulton. Representatives from the communities themselves will also be joining us virtually directly from the Amazon.

We would love it if you are able to join us either in person or virtually at this very special event. Details are as follows:

In person attendees: The venue is Sandyford Henderson Memorial Church, 13 Kelvinhaugh St, Finnieston, Glasgow, G3 8NU

Following the event there will be a reception with light refreshments and an Amazon photo exhibition for you to enjoy. Do be assured that social distancing will be in place in line with Scottish Government guidance as well as a Test and Trace system.

Virtual attendees: The event will be livestreamed from Sandyford Henderson Memorial Church via Zoom, and recordings will be available following the event if you can’t make it. You will be sent a Zoom link a few days prior to the event.
